Fri, Oct 23rd 2015, 15:48:37

We continue celebrating the 80's and 90's pop culture, in fact Japan contributed with some of the most iconics products of the 80's and 90's pop culture, specially in the videogame industry.

We already introduce you the Nintendo Game Boy and today we want to focus in the portable console who try to deal with the Nintendo's greatest success, the Sega Game Gear. The idea was to bring to the customer all those things the Nintendo Game Boy couldn't, a proper design to make it more comfortable and a color display. In fact a Game Gear was nothing but a portable and better version of the Sega Mega Drive.

Sega did it right, the design was beautiful, the screen was colorful, with a good resolution and even the price was nice, but trying to go against the Game Boy was like trying to stop a tsunami with a cardboard, is that simple. You may think that we are exaggerating, well, Nintendo's Game Boy sold 118.69 million and still remains like the 3rd most sold console ever, Segas Game Gear sold 11 million, tsunami against cardboard ...

But anyway, this doesn't means that the Game Gear was a bad console, at all! The graphics were a way long better than the Game Boy ones, the color screen was stunning and the design was beautiful, although Sega's Game Gear was totally defeat by Game Boy, the system remains like an icon of the 90's pop culture.

That's why we think you should check our specially make for you Game Gear console and game list we bring you today, in addition, the console was released in different colors just in Japan! What about playing sonic the hedgehog, one of the most iconic games of all time, in a stunning yellow Sega Game Gear. You know we love to make you happy!
